Art Sale Continuing

The Art Sale to benefit Conococheague Audubon is expected to continue through January 17 at Wallspace Gallery and Framing, 1769 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Members James and Deborah Wheeling are selling 140 fine art bird prints collected over 50 years and will generously donate all proceeds to CAS. Many prints are numbered and signed. 34 artists are represented, including Robert Bateman, Guy Coheleach, Ray Harm, and Roger Tory Peterson. Most prints are unframed, but approximately 16 framed prints are still hanging at Wallspace. Regular gallery hours are Tues-Fri 10-4:30, Sat 10-2; other times by appointment, 717-264-7210. Destination:Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, near Cambridge, Maryland.
Auto tour for WATERFOWL.
Friday – Sunday, 16 February – 18 February, 2024. Leave from Martins’ home at 1:00 PM Friday.
Make your own motel arrangements.
Bring scopes, binoculars, and lunch.

Middle Creek WMA for Waterfowl

Destination: Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, Lancaster County.
Auto tour for migrants. Hoping for large numbers of Snow Geese and Tundra Swans; also many ducks and other waterfowl.
Bring scopes, binoculars, and lunch.
Be prepared to take the PA Turnpike.
Meeting place: Park & Ride, Scotland, Exit 20, I-81 northbound

American Woodcock

Field Trip: To see and hear the mating rituals of AMERICAN WOODCOCKS.
Drive to Heisey Road orchard.
Witness the annual mating flight of these woodland birds with Bob Keener.
Bring flashlight.
Be prepared for tall, wet grass.
Meeting place: Park & Ride, Scotland, Exit 20, I-81 northbound. Meet at the Park & Ride at 6:45 PM, or go directly to Heisey Road orchard on your own and be there by 6:55 PM.
Destination: Heisey Road orchard. Note: birders are welcome, despite the Posted signs.
